These meetings provide support for Linux people needing assistance with:
- Installing Linux on new hardware.
- Improving or fixing a Linux installation.
- Questions about how Linux works.
- Questions / assistance with Linux security.
- Linux software suggestions.
Members meet to both offer support and ask for it. We generally have a diverse enough group to attempt any problem, and have answered thousands of general use problems (and fixed hundreds of WiFi card issues) over the years.
Improving Meet up: Wednesdays, 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
10111 Richmond Ave, Suite 100
Houston, TX 77042
The building is located on the south side of Richmond Avenue, we recommend approaching the building by traveling east along Richmond. There is an open air parking lot to the west of the building, in front of its entrance. There is also a parking garage further back. Please park within the spaces marked for visitors, in the open air lot. HoustonLinux has not requested access to the adjacent parking garage.
Food and drinks are provided by Improving, a consulting company that graciously provides both food and facilities for our meetings. Typically there is a variety of pizza available, along with soda and water. To ensure that a proper amount of food is available, please indicate your attendance by Tuesday.
The meeting rooms are on the first floor, prior to, and to the left of the elevators. If unclear as to their location, a security guard is typically present and will gladly direct you to the correct doors.
